First "Footballess" Sunday of 2013

As much as Americans anticipate Super Bowl Sunday, the Sunday after the Super Bowl has to be the least wanted day in America. For all of us football loving fans it marks the first of 29 long drawn out "footballess" Sundays.

To ease the pain of not being about to enjoy a regular season or post-season NFL game on a Sunday for the first time in four months, I thought I would give you a few viewing options today.

The first is a pretty decent college basketball game that marks the #1 Indiana Hoosiers versus the #10 Ohio Buckeyes. The reason why I think this game is going to be good and worth your time is because both teams are coming off very difficult loses and both are sure to be fired up because of that. The Hoosiers lost a game 74-72 against Illinois, who isn't even ranked, with a last second lay-up and the Buckeyes are coming off a heartbreaking OT loss by 2 points against their arch rivals, the Michigan Wolverines. The game can be seen on CBS at 1 pm EST.

The Los Angeles Kings will travel to the Detroit Red Wings today which could be another alternative for this first footballess Sunday. Even though the Kings are below .500 at this point in this season, people must not forget they are the defending Stanley Cup Champions and could put out an impressive performance at any moment. They are also playing the notoriously tough Red Wings who sit at 6-4-1 on the season. You can watch this match-up at 12:30 on NBC.

There are also a couple of nationally televised NBA games that could be of interest to sports loving individuals that come in the form of a double header. The first of these two match-ups is the Clippers versus the Knicks. The Clippers led by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and the Knicks led by Carmelo Anthony both seem to be on the upswing which leads me to believe this will be a high scoring, heavyweight battle, and fun to watch. The second game of this double header is the Miami Heat versus the Los Angeles Lakers. Anytime you get these two teams and players such as Dwaye Wade, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, and the many more on the floor at the same time it should be very good and intense game.  Games can be watch on ABC beginning at 1:00 pm EST.

For those, who are not fans of any other sports and want more football, your in luck, to a certain degree. Today on the NFL Network, all day, you can watch a Marathon of their series America's Game, which they are using to countdown the best Super Bowl teams as voted on by the fans. If you've never seen an episode of America's Game, please do so. They are insightful and tell inside stories from each super bowl teams with interviews from individuals on the particular team.

And if you want to completely get away from sports for the day, at 9:00 EST a NEW episode AMC's "The Walking Dead" is on. Because this is the premiere of the second half of season three for the show, they are showing a marathon of episodes to remind fans of what has happened leading up to the new episode tonight. Also during that marathon they are showing snippets of tonight's episode.

So no matter what your into there is something for you to do, besides chores, on this first Footballess Sunday of 2013.

Happy Sunday and Enjoy Watching!!
